GLENN IS TOWN KING, SEPTEMBER 2023

Glenn had sung his heart out this faithful night, yet he was still able to find the heart to save the lives of two boys drowning in the river at Southbank. The Southbank resident was walking home from Karaoke when just after leaving the flinders street underpass he hears screams billowing from the water. A past lifeguard, he bursts into action mustering up a plan despite the drowning boys being out of reach down the river wall and far from a ladder. Creating a makeshift rope from his jacket Glenn and bystanders manage to rile one of the boys out, and by chance got hold of the other. They were not in a good way but after Glenn recovery positions them they were able to blurt out the Yarra River water and regained consciousness.

Amazingly Glenn was determined not to allow this to happen again and has contacted(and followed up haha government beauracry haha) with Parks Victoria and City of Melbourne who have so far conducted a full safety assessment and will hopefully install lifesaving equipment so these horrible incidents NEVER occur again.

As someone who absolutely full whole heartedly cares has safety as my number 1 priority in everything I do and also as a community advocate it was my greatest honour to award a gentleman like Glenn with the September 2023 issue of TOWN KING. I hope he holds his head high while he walks the streets of Melbourne and we can all feel a little bit safer knowing people like him walk our streets and are ready to pounce when needed.
